Jambi (ANTARA Jambi) - The Jambi provincial police named five suspects involved in a recent bloody clash, which led to the death of a police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer and two locals in the Mengkadai hamlet, Sarolangun district.

"We are still compiling the dossiers of the five suspects," Jambi Police Chief Brig. Gen. Satriya Hari Prasetya noted here on Wednesday.

He however declined to reveal the names of the suspects. None of the suspects have been detained by the police.

Chief of the Sarolangon district police Adj. Snr. Comr. Ridho Hartawan stated that the suspects were those captured in the police video footage, which showed a group of people assaulting the Brimob officer.

The clash occurred when the Brimob officers tried to stop the illegal gold mining at the Mengkadai hamlet, in the Sarolangon district.(Ant)
