Jambi (ANTARA Jambi) - Jambi Province will for the first time ever
host the election of ASEAN radio stars in 2015, head of the Jambi state
broadcast station (RRI) Suyuno Wasis said here on Wednesday.
"The election will be held in October 2015. The date, however, has not been finalized," he noted.
Jambi was appointed to host the event due to its success in organizing the National Broadcast Jambore in 2013, among others, he pointed out.
"None of state broadcast stations of type C, such as RRI Jambi, has hosted the election of ASEAN radio stars. Therefore, we must make the event a success," he said.
The event is expected to bring together 500 participants.
ASEAN groups include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. (Ant)
