JAMBI'S EXPORTS DOWN 35 PERCENT IN JULY MONTH TO MONTH

Jambi, Sept 5 (Antara) - Jambi's exports dropped 35 percent in value to US$114.94 million in July from US$175.85 million in June this year.

The provincial office of the central bureau of statistics (BPS) attributed the decline to shrinking exports in volume.

The BPS chief Dadang Hardiawan, a decline was recorded in the export volume of all commodities on weak demand.

Cumulatively, exports of the province in the first seven months of this year plunged 37.78 percent year-on-year.

Its exports were dominated by mineral commodities accounting for 53.94 percent, followed by manufactured goods accounting for 41.56 percent with farm commodities for 4.50 percent.

Oil and gas dominated exports of mining commodities and rubber and processed rubber products dominated exports of manufactured goods.

Exports of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, France, China , Japan, the United States, India, Korea and Taiwan declined in July.

Increase was recorded in exports to Britain, Germany and Australia.
