Jambi, May (Antaranews Jambi) - A local resident of Mendalo Darat, Jambi Luar Kota sub-district, Muarojambi district, has succeeded in catching a 3.5-meter python from a chicken coop.
The 100-kilogram python was caught by the resident named Ahmad while it was in the chicken coop after preying on the livestock of the local people, a Medalo Darat resident, Japri, stated here on Monday.
Residents, who had been restless due to the presence of the python, have finally found it in a chicken coop.
The residents were overwhelmed by the strength and aggressive nature of the snake as it was hungry.
It is quite difficult for the residents to catch the snake as it did not have time to prey on the chicken, making it more aggressive because of hunger.
Some local residents tried to lift the python from Ahmad`s chicken coop. They tied the python`s mouth to prevent it from attacking anyone.
In addition, this python is also planned to be sold in the market by residents.
Japri revealed that some livestock, including goats or domestic cats, have also disappeared mysteriously, which may have allegedly been eaten up by the python.
"We suspect there are still many snakes around here, because the condition is a swamp area," he stated.
The local people feel that these pythons are the ones that always prey on the livestock here, such as the goat and the domesticated cats. *** 4 ***
